Wheelabrator have developed a new dosing machine which automatically adds de-greasing additives to metallic blasting abrasives to simplify the process of removing oil and grease from the blasting process.
During development, Wheelabrator has tested their new AddIt dosing unit with our Amapure de-greasing additive. Amapure has significant benefits over competitor degreasing additives: lower consumption, better value and lower dust generation. In addition, for smaller operations, Amapure can be purchased in individual bags.
The new AddIt dosing unit has a number of advantages over existing dosing units on the market:
- The AddIt dosing valve has a rubber pinch valve which is virtually wear-free. Others utilise rotating cylinders which can wear out quickly, especially if there are abrasive residues in the additive which can often happen. Particles can get into the gap between the mechanical dosing roller and the housing causing significant wear.
- AddIt is equipped with a compressed air accumulator that compensates for pressure fluctuations in the customer’s compressed air network. AddIt is available in an extended version for the separate supply of several blasting systems, even with different dosing volumes.
- Wheelabrator are also offering an AddIt Plus version of the dosing unit which has an extended display and setting options.
Commenting on the launch of AddIt, Paul Abram, Technical Director of Ervin Europe said “We are delighted that Wheelabrator are bringing their new dosing unit to market. Thanks to rigorous on-site testing, we are confident that together, AddIt and Amapure will deliver significant benefits to many customers who need to remove oil and grease form their blasting operations. The AddIt has been designed to overcome some of the problems associated with the dosing units currently on the market and is an ideal solution together with Amapure.”
